ServicesMidsize Jet Charter

Midsize Jet Charter in Avon

A midsize jet carries 7 to 9 passengers nonstop on most trips from central Indiana to either coast. Before we recommend one, we check your passenger count, bags, runway and the operator behind the aircraft, then give you an all-inclusive quote in plain terms.

Where midsize jets fit in the charter lineup

The Citation XLS, Learjet 60 and Hawker 800XP are typical of this class, which sits above light jets and below super-midsize jets. Compared with a light jet, the cabin gives you more width and headroom, the lavatory has a door, and the hold accepts golf bags and full-size suitcases rather than carry-ons alone. Range on most models falls around 1,800 to 2,400 nautical miles, enough to reach most destinations from the Indianapolis area without stopping for fuel.

We do not start with the aircraft. We start with the trip: how many people, how much they carry, where they land and when they need to be there. Only after we have checked those details against real aircraft performance do we tell you whether a midsize jet fits, or whether a light jet or super-midsize jet makes more sense. We have been doing that work for 5 years, and the honest answer is sometimes the smaller aircraft.

What your midsize charter includes

Aircraft and operator check
We confirm the operator holds a Part 135 certificate for the specific aircraft, and we look at the airframe's age and cabin layout. You hear what we found before you commit.
Load and runway review
Seven passengers with ski bags weigh far more than seven with briefcases. We check weight, fuel and runway length at both ends, because a short runway on a hot day can force a lighter fuel load.
All-inclusive quote
One number covers the whole trip: the fuel the jet burns, pilot time, airport charges, handling at each FBO and the tax the government adds to every charter. Nothing new appears on the invoice after you land.
Point to point pricing
Each leg is priced on its own, so a one-way flight is billed as one way and never at round trip rates. Booking with us does not tie you to future flights or any long term commitment.
Requests for the cabin
Need to work in the air? We can quote WIFI equipped aircraft. Pets are allowed, and if you want catering or a car waiting on arrival, we relay it to the crew and FBO.

Signs your trip needs a midsize jet

  • Six to nine people

A light jet usually seats six at most, and that is tight. Once the group passes five adults, a midsize cabin keeps everyone in a real seat.

  • A light jet would need a fuel stop

Light jets often stop to refuel on legs past about 1,200 nautical miles. A midsize jet flies Indiana to Denver, Miami or Boston nonstop on most days.

  • Bags that will not fit a light jet

Golf clubs, strollers and checked-size luggage need the larger external hold that midsize jets carry.

  • Flights of two hours or more

An enclosed lavatory and room to stand partway up matter more as the flight gets longer, especially for families and teams working en route.

  • A turboprop is too slow for the schedule

Turboprops shine on short regional hops. Beyond roughly 500 miles, a jet cruising faster and higher trims the trip noticeably and usually rides over much of the weather a turboprop flies through.

What moves the price of a midsize charter

Midsize jet pricing is driven mostly by flight hours, then by where the aircraft starts and how long it waits for you. We show you each of these before you book, so the quote makes sense line by line.

Flight time and positioning

Hours in the air are the largest cost. If the nearest suitable aircraft is based away from your departure airport, positioning time is part of the trip, and we look for aircraft that keep it short.

Aircraft model and age

A newer Citation Latitude with a flat floor and stand-up cabin costs more per hour than an older Hawker or Learjet. Both fly the trip; the difference is cabin comfort.

Overnights and waiting

On a trip where the crew waits for you, crew hotel costs and daily minimums apply. A same-day return or two one-way legs on different aircraft can change the math.

Dates and notice

Holiday weekends and big event dates tighten midsize availability. Booking ahead gives us more aircraft to compare, though we also handle short-notice flights.

How we book your midsize flight

  1. 1

    Trip details by phone

We ask for passenger count, bag sizes, pets, departure and arrival airports, and your timing. Ten minutes of detail here prevents the wrong aircraft later.

  2. 2

We check aircraft against the trip

We match the load and runways against midsize aircraft that are available, and we verify each operator's certificate. Summer heat and humidity reduce takeoff performance, so July departures get a closer look at runway length and fuel.

  3. 3

    Plain findings and your quote

We tell you which aircraft fits, why, and anything that could change the plan, such as a headwind that adds a fuel stop. Then you get one all-inclusive price.

  4. 4

    Departure day at the FBO

You drive to the FBO, park close to the aircraft and walk aboard with no terminal lines. The crew handles bags and briefs you before departure.

Midsize jet charter questions

How many passengers fit on a midsize jet?

Most midsize jets seat 7 to 9 passengers. Seating count and comfortable count are different, so we look at bag weight and trip length before we suggest filling every seat. For 10 or more, we would point you to a super-midsize or heavy jet charter.

Can a midsize jet fly nonstop from Indiana to the West Coast?

Often, yes, but not always. Westbound flights fight prevailing winter headwinds, and a full cabin cuts fuel capacity on some models. We check the forecast winds and your load, then tell you plainly whether to plan for a fuel stop.

Can we bring our dog?

Yes, pets are allowed. Tell us the size and whether the pet travels in a crate or on a lap, and we confirm the details with the operator and crew before departure.

Will there be WiFi on board?

We can quote WIFI equipped aircraft. Coverage and speed vary by system, so if you need video calls in flight, say so and we will look for the right setup.

Do you book flights at short notice or overnight?

Yes. We take calls 24/7 and can source a midsize jet for a time-sensitive trip, subject to aircraft and crew availability. The same checks on operator and runway still happen, just faster.

If I only need a one-way flight, am I billed for a return?

No. We price the single leg you fly, from your origin to your destination, and the aircraft's trip home is not added to your bill. When your timing has some give, ask about empty leg flights, which can bring the cost down further.
