Turboprop Charter in Avon

For a regional flight with four to eight passengers, a turboprop frequently gives you the best value per seat. Before quoting, we review your route, the runways at both ends and your baggage load, tell you straight whether a turboprop suits the trip, then price it all-inclusive.

Where turboprops make sense

In a turboprop, a turbine engine turns a propeller through a reduction gearbox. The Beechcraft King Air and Pilatus PC-12 run on Jet-A, the same fuel business jets burn, carry passengers in pressurized cabins and cruise at roughly 260 to 310 knots. Next to a light jet they climb a bit slower and level off lower, but they need far less runway and their hourly cost is lower.

That makes them a strong choice for trips of a few hundred miles, where a jet's extra speed saves only minutes. They also reach short or rural strips that many jets cannot use, so you can often land closer to where you are going.

Before we recommend one, we check the details that actually decide the answer: distance, passenger and bag weight, runway length at both ends and the season. If a light jet fits your trip better, we will tell you.

What your turboprop charter includes

A route and runway check
We confirm runway length, surface and FBO hours at your departure and arrival airports. A PC-12 needs only a few thousand feet of pavement, which opens up airports a jet would skip.
Weight and balance review
Turboprops have smaller cabins and tighter payload limits than larger jets. We total passengers, luggage, golf bags and gear before quoting, so nothing gets left on the ramp.
Aircraft and operator details
We tell you which aircraft type is proposed, its seat count and cabin layout, and we review the operator's records before we put it in front of you.
An all-inclusive quote
Fuel, crew, landing fees, FBO charges and taxes are built into one number. No hidden costs show up after the flight.
Pets and onboard WiFi
Pets are welcome aboard. If the flight needs to double as office time, mention it early and we will only propose aircraft that carry WiFi.

When a turboprop fits the trip

  • The flight is shorter than about 600 miles

A jet on a short hop spends much of the flight going up and coming down. A turboprop lands just minutes behind it and typically for a good deal less.

  • Your nearest airfield is a small one

A King Air or PC-12 handles short runways and basic ground services well. Touching down near the meeting or the vacation home can cut an hour from the drive.

  • Four to eight people are flying

Turboprop cabins mostly hold six to nine seats. A family or small work team fits without paying for extra cabin you will not use.

  • The airline trip needs a connection

When flying commercial means routing through a hub and losing half a day, a direct turboprop flight can shrink it to one morning.

  • Your dog or large gear is coming too

The wide rear cargo door on the PC-12 makes it easy to load crates, equipment and pet carriers.

What moves the price of a turboprop charter

Turboprops generally cost less per hour than jets, but each quote depends on the specific trip. A one-way leg is quoted as one way, because our pricing is point to point and you never pay round trip pricing. Here is what changes the number.

Flight time

Distance and headwinds set the billable hours. A strong winter jet stream can add real time on a westbound leg.

Repositioning

When the closest available aircraft sits at another airport, the ferry leg to reach you may show up in the price. Our search starts with tail numbers based near your departure, which keeps that ferry time short.

Waiting and overnights

A return the same day costs differently than holding crew and aircraft for several days. We price both so you can compare.

Season and demand

Holiday weekends and big events tighten availability. Winter flights can add de-icing charges, which we include up front.

How we plan your flight

  1. 1

You call and describe the trip

Tell us dates, airports, passengers, luggage and any pets. We answer the phone around the clock for short-notice trips.

  2. 2

    We check the details first

We look at runway data, distance, payload and likely weather. In winter we factor in icing, since de-icing and known-icing equipment affect which aircraft we propose.

  3. 3

    You hear plain findings

We explain whether a turboprop fits, what the tradeoffs are, and when a light jet would serve you better. Then you get an all-inclusive quote by phone.

  4. 4

    Departure day

Most passengers reach the FBO a quarter of an hour or a little more ahead of wheels-up. There is no TSA checkpoint to clear; the crew stows your luggage and you board when your group is ready.

Common turboprop questions

Will a turboprop feel as comfortable as a jet?

You sit in a pressurized, climate-controlled cabin, usually in leather club seats. It runs a little louder than a jet and cruises somewhat lower, so rough air can be more noticeable. On flights under two hours, most travelers barely notice the gap.

What is a turboprop's nonstop range?

That comes down to the model and how much it carries. Fuel and people count against one weight limit, so a full cabin cuts range. We work out your actual load and let you know whether a fuel stop is required.

Is a one-way flight billed as a round trip?

No. You pay for the single leg you take. If an aircraft happens to be repositioning in your direction, we will let you know.

Can my dog fly with me?

Yes, pets are allowed. Let us know which animals are coming and about how large they are, and we will choose a cabin with space for a carrier and check the operator's pet rules before departure.

How many years have you been in charter?

We have been in business 5 years. Over that time we have seen that most charter trouble traces back to an overlooked runway, weight or timing detail, so we check all three before giving a quote.

Do I pay to sign up or prepay hours?

No. There is no long-term tie. Call when you have a trip, and you pay for that flight alone.
